Introduction
This report is to inform teachers about the improvements in classroom management at the school. The report will examine a range of relevant theories, literature, and good practice models and give recommendations for improving classroom behaviour management.
What is Classroom Management?
The most important factor affecting student learning is the teacher. If the teacher is ineffective, students will achieve inadequate progress academically. Effective teaching and learning cannot take place in a poorly managed classroom. If students are disorderly and disrespectful, with no apparent rules and procedures to guide behaviour, chaos becomes the norm. Teachers struggle to teach, and students most likely learn much less than they should.
A well-managed classroom provides an environment in which teaching and learning can thrive. However, a well-managed classroom doesn’t just appear out of nowhere, achieving this takes effort to create and the person who is most responsible for creating it is the teacher.
